HOW TO APPLY FOR MEMBERSHIP
Devon and Somerset Lions (formerly Exeter Lions) is an Official Aston Villa Supporters club covering both counties and setup 7 years ago by Chairman Mike Goostry and Club Secretary and Vice Chair Steve Wall.
The club is a family/friendly club and Villa Supporters of all ages, are very welcome to join. Our youngest member and season ticket holder is currently 8 years old.
We travel to most home games mainly using minibuses and a few away games (where possible through the ballot) and pick up at all M5 junctions as far as J21 at Weston Super-Mare. Where demand permits such as Wembley games, executive coach travel is arranged.
During the summer of 2020, the club recently put on a series of Q & A sessions with former legends (Dennis Mortimer, Tony Morley, Ken McNaught, Tony Daley and Shaun Teale) Via Zoom, the purpose of these were to raise the profile of our Lions club with Aston Villa, the Villa Foundation, the Former Players Club and the Villa community across the South West of England, whilst raising money for charity (NHS Ride for Heroes). This exercise proved a great success, raising a total of £800 for the 3 charities.
Along with the newly formed Cornwall Lions, we are working closely together with the Chair, and a series of online Q & A sessions have been held, for members across the South West of England, most notably with Jimmy Rimmer and Ian Taylor to add to the above list and in the absence of attending matches these have been a great success.
